明治・大正期における法律学の泰斗であり我が国近代法の立法過程に深く関わった穂積陳重とその長男で東京帝国大学教授であった穂積重遠の旧蔵書4,023 点から成るコレクション。本文庫は昭和20年代の終わり頃、穂積家から学界に提供された穂積家関係資料の一部であり、東京教育大学文学部の稲田正次教授が科学研究費で購入したもの。この穂積家関係資料は、筑波大学の他、東京大学法学部研究室にも保管されている。
昭和27(1952)年3月受入。

A collection of 4,023 items from the former collection of Hozumi Nobushige, who was deeply involved in the process of establishing the modern laws of Japan, and leading authority on legal studies in the Meiji and Taisho eras, and Hozumi Shigeto, Professor at Tokyo Imperial University, and eldest son of Nobushige. In the early 1950s this collection was part of the materials related to the Hozumi family that were provided to the academic community by the family themselves. Professor Inada Masatsugu of the Tokyo University of Education Department of Literature purchased the materials with research funds. Materials related to the Hozumi family are archived at University of Tokyo Faculty of Law Library, as well as at University of Tsukuba.
Received in March 1952.
