“Other Valuable Books” is a collection of particularly valuable materials from among the precious holdings of the University of Tsukuba Library that do not belong to specific themes or collections.
You can view digitized images of old maps from our library’s collection. Our library also held a special exhibition in 2007 that treated as “Old maps” those created before the widespread adoption of modern surveying and printing techniques; please refer to it alongside this page.
Kyoiku nishiki-e are educational materials for young children that were published by the Ministry of Education around 1873 (明治 6年). All of them are large-format nishiki-e prints and bear the red seal "文部省製本所発行記". In addition to the Miyaki Collection, our library holds 95 types of nishiki-e prints published by the Ministry of Education, including those collected later.
