- A collection assembled from the previous collection of 1,903 books by Tokyo Higher Normal School Professor Hayashi Taisuke (Han learning).
A collection of many precious items, such as論語集注/Rongo Shicchu or Lunyu jizhu, transcribed in Genki era. The main focus is on Chinese culture adopted in Japan, and Japanese editions of Chinese works.
Received in December 1922. - A collection assembled from the previous collection of 1,234 books by Higher Normal School Professor Hidaka Masane (education and philosophy). Includes a booklet entitled日高文庫設立顛末/Hidaka Bunko Setsuritsu Tenmatsu. Professor Hidaka collected a large number of books while studying in Germany, but died just two years after returning to Japan. It was decided to create an archive of these books in his memory. Donations were collected, and the collection was established. The funds were donated by 447 prominent scholars, including Kano Jigoro, Natsume Kinnosuke (Soseki), and Kitasato Shibasaburo.
Received in December 1922.
