- A collection assembled from the previous collection of 935 books by Tokyo University of Literature and Science Professor Ishikawa Rinshiro (English literature).
Received in September 1940.

Books whose material types are “rare books” are stored in the rare book archive. - A collection assembled from the previous collection of 2,417 books by Tokyo Higher Normal School Professor Okakura Yoshisaburo (English linguistics and literature). Professor Okakura’s older brother Okakura Tenshin, was a pioneer in the art world. The Okakura Collection includes many difficult to obtain books covering many fields, such as English, Latin, and Korean languages and British literature. Of particular value are the dictionaries and study materials in English, German, French and Dutch from the end of the Tokugawa period to the beginning of the Meiji era.

In-library-use-only materials are Stored in the Japanese style book archive room 2. - A collection assembled from the previous collection of 5,772 books by Miyaki Yuitsu, the chief priest of Jutokuji temple in Takinogawa, Tokyo. Miyaki Yuitsu collected textbooks from schools and temple schools around the time of the Meiji Restoration, while he was a practicing monk. His collection was reported to be a total of more than 20,000 books. On the recommendation of Ototake Iwazo, Professor at Tokyo University of Literature and Science, a portion of this collection (textbooks) was donated to Tokyo University of Literature and Science, which established a textbook collection with the Miyaki collection as the foundation.
